Quick Recap

Wow - so I had abandoned my blog for a little while there, but had recently gotten in the habit of reading through blogs in the evenings on my iPad while me and L caught up on tv shows or read in bed, and it inspired me to get back to my blog!

Quite a bit has happened since April, and here's a quick recap:

My family threw me a bridal shower in May, and I had such a wonderful time! It was my first of 4 showers (I couldn't believe I was so lucky to have 4 showers!), and nothing fancy, but it occurred the day after I found out L passed Phase 1 of Ranger School and I was over the moon.

  

In June, L graduated Ranger School. He made it through without recycling, which only 20% of the guys he showed up with on Day 1 did as well. We went 62 days with a grand total of 5 minutes on the phone and nothing but letters. He probably lost 15 pounds, had some serious poison ivy, and needed to catch up on some serious sleep and eating, but he did it. I was seriously so proud of him - this day was the highlight of the summer until...

  

I finally got this guy down the aisle. We were married in August and made the move to Tennessee, and couldn't be happier! I'll do lots on the wedding and our apartment soon, promise.

 

I think Logan and I are off to a great start in this married adventure and I can't wait to share with you our routines!

Back at it Again!

Finally Friday!

It is finally Friday - boy was I in need of it! And if my sweet fiance wasn't en route to VA now, I'd spend my weekend doing this:

But, Logan should be here around 7 - right after I pick up our wedding invitations!

Tomorrow, we're headed to the Poplar Forest Craft Beer Tasting and the weather should be perfection!

Sunday I have to work and Logan will return to GA for the inevitable start of Ranger School, but at least we got one more visit worked into our schedules :) Thank heavens he didn't have to staff the Best Ranger competition this weekend!

130 Days to the Wedding!

Sorry for my hiatus -- My solider got his blue cord and has officially graduated from IBOLC! Here is a photo from before the ceremony:

But, now I'm back, and it's pedal to the metal!

The wedding is only (ONLY!) 130 days away and there is so much to do. For example:

• The earrings I bought for the bridesmaids should ship any day now. I settled on the Delphie Stone Studs from Stella & Dot:

 

• My wedding dress is in and I go in to try it on and pick it up today. I'm a little miffed because when I ordered it they told me they'd hold it for as long as I need, but now they're changing their tune. Additionally, my dress was 2 weeks late coming in, and I've heard nothing but awful things about the tailor they employ. Oy. But, at least it's here and I can take it to our family tailor and hopefully alterations won't take too long and I can get my bridal portraits scheduled!
• I pick up my wedding invites on Friday and am so happy with they way they turned out - I recommend Leen Jean if you're in the central Virginia area - she's great to work with and competitively priced! Plus, who doesn't love supporting local business?
• I reserved mine and Logan's room for the night of the wedding at the Craddock Terry Hotel in Lynchburg. I'm so happy THAT is done!

Things are slowly but surely falling together. My wedding shower is next month, and my sister is working so hard to make sure it's perfect.

I know everyone says to savor these months, that you'll never be engaged again, but with the move, work transitions, and wrapping up grad school I just can't wait for August to get here! I can't wait to settle into married life with Logan and start our life together.
